Qnity Electronics has an opening for a Product Scale Up Engineer in the Advanced Cleans and Slurries Technology (ACST) business. This engineering position is focused on scaling up new slurry products used in the Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) process of semiconductor fabrication. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to helping our business grow customer market share in advanced nodes in the semiconductor industry with career growth opportunities within an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities

Lead scale up of new slurry products

  • Lead projects to demonstrate manufacturing capability of new formulations.
  • Implement manufacturing process optimization plans to ensure that new products meet cost and quality targets established by the business.

Transition new technology to commercialization

  • Lead new product introductions through stage gate process to transfer new product technology to high volume manufacturing (HVM) plants.
  • Develop safe and efficient operating procedures for pilot trials with pre-startup reviews addressing all EH&S issues.
  • Conduct engineering tests and perform statistical data reviews to prepare technology packages for commercialization.
  • Set up control plans and quality systems, such as SPC charts, for new manufacturing technology.

Support opportunities to meet customer needs

  • Work closely with marketing and field service teams to define opportunities for improvement and new product offerings based on customer input.
  • Supply evaluation quantities of new products with desired purity, quantity, and within specified project timelines.
  • Develop improvement plans to meet the needs of advancing customer metrics.

Qualifications

  • Education and Training: Bachelor's degree required, preferably Chemical or Materials Engineering.
  • Familiarity with a manufacturing environment is desirable, particularly with chemical or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Candidates with experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes are desirable
  • Experience with processing and chemistry of colloidal or particulate suspensions or slurries is preferred.
  • The candidate should have fundamental competency in statistical data analysis.
