What you will do

Johnson Controls is seeking a Project Manager to play a key role in bringing next-generation air handling solutions to market. As part of our Air Handler Product Business Unit, you'll lead and coordinate critical product development activities throughout Johnson Controls' stage-gate development process, helping transform ideas into high-quality products that deliver value to customers around the world.

In this role, you'll manage assigned projects, workstreams, and cross-functional initiatives that drive successful product launches. Working closely with teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Commercial Operations, you'll help ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with performance and quality expectations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging project management professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to build expertise in structured product development, stakeholder leadership, and execution excellence. You'll gain exposure to complex, high-impact projects while helping shape innovative solutions that advance Johnson Controls' commitment to smarter, more sustainable buildings.

This role is based in the Johnson Controls Airside Engineering Center (ACE) in York, Pennsylvania. Candidates must be commuting distance to York, PA, or able to relocate. Only US citizens and/or Permanent Residents will be considered for this position, as sponsorship is not available.

How you will do it

Program Execution & Delivery

  • Support assigned new product development sub-projects and workstreams through Johnson Controls' stage-gate development process and help maintain progress through phase milestones.

  • Coordinate assigned project activities to support delivery of approved scope within established quality, performance, and schedule targets, with guidance as needed.

  • Assist with development of execution plans, schedules, and resource needs for assigned workstreams in collaboration with functional teams and program leaders.

  • Track dependencies, action items, and key dates for assigned activities and escalate concerns when appropriate.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with cross-functional team members across core and support functions to maintain alignment on assigned deliverables, timelines, and follow-up actions.

  • Facilitate communication, meeting follow-up, and coordination across team members to support execution of project plans and completion of assigned work.

  • Build effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders to support collaboration, communication, and execution of project objectives.

Risk, Issue, and Stakeholder Management

  • Identify risks and issues within assigned scope, support mitigation planning, and escalate concerns when appropriate.

  • Collaborate with functional managers, project or program managers, and leadership to support issue resolution and alignment on priorities.

  • Communicate project status, risks, action items, and decisions through regular updates, dashboards, and review meetings.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or related field

  • 1+ years of experience in project coordination, project management, program support, or engineering

  • Experience supporting schedules, tracking action items, facilitating project meetings, and maintaining project plans or related documentation

  • Experience coordinating with cross-functional team members to support execution of project activities

  • US citizen and/or Permanent Resident of the US

Preferred

  • Exposure to stage-gate or phase-gate product development processes

  • Basic knowledge of the HVAC industry or a related product development environment

  • Experience using collaboration platforms (e.g. Microsoft Teams) and work management tools (e.g. Daptiv, Planview, Smartsheet, Wrike)
