Job description

We are seeking a motivated Product Development Scientist to join our onsite R&D team. In this role, you will develop new formulations, optimize existing products, conduct research on innovative ingredients and delivery technologies, and support product launches from development through commercial production. This is an excellent opportunity for a scientifically driven professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is committed to innovation and product excellence.


Responsibilities: (but are not limited to the following)

  • Develop and optimize formulations across all categories of solid dosage.
  • Conduct research on active ingredients, excipients, and advanced delivery technologies, including in-house brand and other bioavailability enhancement systems.
  • Evaluate product concepts for technical feasibility, ingredient compatibility, functionality, stability, and manufacturability.
  • Design and execute formulation trials, laboratory testing, and prototype development to support new product innovation and commercialization.
  • Create and maintain formula cards, master formulas, product specifications, technical reports, and development documentation.
  • Generate and review Supplement Facts Panels and ingredient declarations to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Support product scale-up by collaborating with manufacturing teams on processing methods, equipment selection, and batch production requirements.
  • Perform market research, competitor benchmarking, literature reviews, and ingredient evaluations to identify new product opportunities and emerging industry trends.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Production, Analytical, Quality, and Regulatory teams to ensure successful project execution and product launches.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of formulation processes, laboratory procedures, and product development practices through data analysis, innovation, and emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management

Education and Qualification:

  • Master's degree preferred (Bachelor's degree considered with relevant experience) in Food Science, Nutritional Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • 3+ years of formulation and product development experience in dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, sports nutrition, cosmetics, RTD beverages, or related industries.
  • Experience with multiple dosage forms, including capsules, tablets, powders, liquids, softgels, creams, and semi-solid formulations.
  • Knowledge of nutritional, botanical, pharmaceutical, and functional ingredients.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, development documentation, and manufacturing records.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of cGMP, cGLP, FDA regulations, and industry compliance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of formulation science, ingredient functionality, stability, and delivery technologies.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment, analytical testing methods, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced product development environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Required to reach with arms and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and tools
  • Required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, bend, sit, talk, hear, climb stairs and ladders
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds with the possibility to 50 pounds

Work Environment:

  • Work environment in a lab and or production operation facilities include close proximity to heavy machinery and powders
  • May be in contact with Allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean Shellfish, Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Wheat, and Soybeans)
  • Potential to move between office and warehouse areas to complete job functions.
  • This position is onsite
