Job Schedule: 9/80 - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off

Job Description: 

As a Specialist, Software Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and help leading the development and execution of software on the embedded targeted hardware. You will be responsible for designing the software per requirements documents and system level design documents.  There will be a focus to interface with the test engineers to influence test automation.

The Agile Development Group (ADG) division specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.

Essential Functions:

 

  • Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the targeted embedded hardware.
  • Proficient in C++, implementing software for embedded Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
  • Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware, firmware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system.
  • Investigate root cause of complex issues, and implement solutions, working independently or with a multi-discipline team.
  • Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal test.
  • Develop software test plans and procedures, and other relevant technical documentation
  • Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, prototype, and evaluate results.
  • Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects.

Qualifications:

  • Active Security Clearance required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 4 years prior experience OR 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 8 years prior experience OR Graduate Degree with 2 years of prior related experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in computer/software engineering field
  • Minimum of 5 years' C++ development in a professional environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience developing and testing real-time embedded software preferred.
  • Familiarly with Greenhills RTOS.
  • Experience developing device drivers and Board Support Packages for real time embedded systems.
  • Experience with Modern C++ techniques.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum/Kanban development processes and procedures. 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Washington D.C., is  $97,000 - $180,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
