Job description

Job Description: SEACORP's Electronic Warfare Business Area is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer. The Software Engineer will need a minimum 10 years of experienceand current DoD Secret Clearance. They will be located out of SEACORP's main location in Middletown, RIstarting in early 2026. The candidate will be responsible for, or act as, the technicallead for tasking, collaborate andinteract with customers and colleagues, require creative thinking and problem-solvingabilities, as well as strong organizational and presentation skills.  Thisideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills,the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and be self-motivated.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. 
  • Work with other functional disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security, etc.) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements. 
  • Maintain databases within an application area.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance. 
  • Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. 
  • Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements, or resolve customer problems. 
  • Direct software programming and development of documentation. 
  • Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. 
  • Confer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing 
    projects. 
  • Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance. 
  • Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.
