Position Description:
Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs. They are involved in the entire software development lifecycle including designing software architecture, writing code, testing for quality and deploying the software to meet customer requirements. Full-stack software engineering roles, who can develop all components of software including user interface and server side also fall within this job function.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with customers to deeply understand their use-cases, pain points, and requirements, showcasing empathy and advocating for user-centric software solutions
  • Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering using various tools, languages, frameworks, methodologies (like agile) and technologies
  • Assess the requirements of the software application or service and determine the most suitable technology stack, integration method, deployment strategy, etc.
  • Create high-level software architecture designs that outline the overall structure, components, and interfaces of the application
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams like product owners, designers, architects etc.
  • Define and implement software test strategy, guidelines, policies and processes in line with organization vision, industry regulations and market best practices.
  • Work on continuously improving performance and optimizing the application and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
  • Familiar with programming practices, such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
  • Support security practices to safeguard user data including encryption and anonymization.
  • Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces
  • Develop and maintain back-end applications like APIs and microservices using server-side languages
  • Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver their solutions, and are monitoring and participating in solutions for new stack layers, often involving industry collaboration
 
Skills Required:
  • Jira, Java
 
Skills Preferred:
  • 8+ years of experience with Atlassian suite of tools, primarily JIRA, Atlassian Analytics and Confluence both a configuration standpoint and customization aspect
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile software development/FLOW Framework. Utilize your knowledge of Agile principles to ensure Atlassian solutions support iterative development and continuous improvement.
  • Proficient experience utilizing JavaScript, JSP, SQL, Python and other programming languages. You will possess a diverse skillset to address various technical challenges.
  • Excellent scripting skills (e.g., Python, Groovy) to automate workflows and integrations including plugins.
  • Familiar with Configuration Management and CI Tools, such as Jenkins, SonarQube, Maven etc. Integrate Atlassian solutions with your existing development toolchain for a seamless workflow.
  • Experience with integrating Atlassian products with other enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, ERP) is a plus.
  • Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) with Jira to enable intelligent ticket classification, summarization, recommendation systems, and conversational interfaces.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot Atlassian related issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate closely with different working streams and engineers. Maintain strong communication and understanding of cross-functional team needs to ensure Atlassian solutions align with broader business objectives.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps and get things done in a rapidly changing environment. You will be a problem-solver who can navigate evolving requirements and adapt solutions as needed.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and support multiple concurrent projects. Manage your workload effectively and deliver results on time.
 
Experience Required:
  • Engineer 2 Exp.: Practitioner: 1 coding language or framework. 4+ years in IT; 3+ years in development
 
Experience Preferred:
  • Design and implement Atlassian solutions (Jira Service Management, Jira Software, Jira Work Management, Confluence) tailored to the specific needs of Product Development, Manufacturing and Quality management processes.
  • Configure and customize Jira products to automate processes, improve efficiency, and enhance user experience for all stakeholders involved in quality management.
  • Experience working within the automotive manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of quality management processes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. .Integrating functional AI capabilities into Atlassian tools, including the use of machine learning models to enhance automation, analytics, and decision-making.
  • Integrate Atlassian products with CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless flow of information between development and operations teams.
  • Perform data migration from one Atlassian environment to another, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption.
  • Confluence Implementation: Create new spaces for users, define permissions, and maintain a well-organized knowledge base.
  • Perform administration, development and support integrating with JIRA and its add-ons: Develop custom workflows, scripts, and automations to enhance JIRA functionality and leverage add-ons to extend its capabilities.
  • Timely and cost-effective implementation: Focus on delivering solutions that meet business needs within budget and time constraints.
  • Develop and maintain Architecture Artifacts, business capability models, Process Models, Application Integration Model, Data Models etc.
  • Document process diagrams, Common Built Intent Diagram, Technical design decisions, System integrations, and future state considerations to ensure a clear understanding and maintainability of the Atlassian ecosystem.
