Job Description
The Job:
• Build a next generation data management platform to curate the vast amount of data our business receives and processes on a daily basis.
• Build exception management and workflow processes to support our operational processes.
• Build custom jobs and integrations between enterprise systems, such as Geneva, Great Plains, BMS, and Broadridge.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers,business partners and other software teams to develop new applications, user interfaces,and features using a variety of technologies.
• Migrate legacy desktop applications to modern web platforms based in the cloud.
• Make that user experience world-class by working with process engineers and software quality assurance to ensure low defect rates.
• Execute appropriate coding practices that align with team standards.
• Adhere to and promote secure coding practices to further our cyber security requirements.
• Learn new things and be forthcoming with sharing ideas and experience with your team.
• Mentor and coach teammates.
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
You must have a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent engineering discipline and have been building and delivering enterprise grade solutions for the last 8 years. The last 2+ years must have been in AWS technologies. Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in building great solutions while mentoring more junior staff to achieve great results.
Qualifications
• Demonstrable expertise and experience in AWS on foundational and data processing services(EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, IAM, ECS, EKS, EMR, etc)
• AWS certifications are a major plus
• Experience with Apache NiFi or similar data flow management platform
• Experience with Databricks or Spark and DeltaLake
• Experience with Snowflake is a plus
• Experience developing CI/CD pipelines within AWS
• Experience with integrations between enterprise systems, SFTP file transfers, data processing and ETL.
• Experience developing well designed APIs using REST or SOAP.
• Experience and expertise in programming in Java and/or C#.
• Experience building backend scalable micro-services
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python
• Experience writing and tuning SQL queries with a major RDBMS
• Expertise and experience with Git version control.
• Experience working in an Agile environment and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Experience in financial services a plus, but not required.
