How you'll make an impact

As a Senior Developer, Data Engineering, you'll help deliver product stories that support FCC's priorities, with a strong focus on building and enhancing the data infrastructure that underpins our modern data ecosystem. You'll work within a collaborative engineering team that enables FCC's data community through technology, ensuring data is accessible, reliable and ready for use across the organization.

You'll partner with other technical teams and business units to develop scalable solutions and support the flow of data between systems. If you're a critical thinker with natural curiosity, strong analytical skills and a passion for clean, smart code, you'll thrive in this role and make a meaningful impact on FCC's data capabilities.

What you'll do

  • Participate in a solution's implementation

  • Analyze and develop new code, including automation, integration and unit tests

  • Implement code fixes and support user testing

  • Actively contribute to code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members

  • Ensure technical solutions and system integrations are developed and maintained in the most efficient and effective manner

  • Participate in design sessions

What you'll bring to the team

Required qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering

  • Minimum three years of experience in software engineering practices (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Experience with data engineering tools, platforms and approaches

  • Experience building infrastructure as code (AWS CloudFormation)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Functional programming experience

  • Experience with data modelling, data engineering and/or data warehouse building

  • Experience designing and building data environments to support reporting and analytics, including data integrations and flow between disparate data systems

  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies and concepts: Data Lakes, Spark, Glue, RedShift, SageMaker, QuickSight, DMS, IAM

  • Experience with Informatica or any ETL tool

  • Experience with Data Vault 2.0
