Job description

Motion Industries is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team. In this senior-level role, you will focus on developing and enhancing features within the Supply Chain domain of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Your responsibilities will include analyzing and resolving software issues, developing new applications based on approved designs, and maintaining system integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Develop software applications based on approved design
  • Perform basic problem resolution analysis and correction
  • Correct system problems as directed by manager
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and according to specifications
  • Use standard coding techniques to ensure application performance meets requirements
  • Work as part of a team for most projects

Qualifications
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field and eight (8) to twelve (12) years of related experience; or equivalent combination.
  • Proven experience with structured application development and change control processes
  • Strong background in object-oriented analysis and design
  • Solid understanding of database design, programming languages, and coding best practices
  • Minimum of 5 years of enterprise application development experience, with a demonstrated history of delivering Java-based solutions for organizations with revenues exceeding $1 billion
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices and version control tools such as Git
  • Experience deploying applications in cloud environments
  • Good understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban

Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Java and JavaScript
  • Strong skills in code and system documentation
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks
  • Version control expertise with Git

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud development platforms
  • Unit testing experience using JUnit and Jasmine
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or Jira for project tracking
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines
  • Knowledge of DB2 SQL
