Job description

Valleywise Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Step-Down Critical Care Unit (SDCCU) Nurse to provide exceptional care to patients transitioning from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a lower acuity setting. The SDCCU Nurse is responsible for closely monitoring patients with complex conditions, administering advanced treatments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Hourly Pay Rate: $35.52 - $52.39
Qualifications
Education:

  • Requires a bachelor's or higher in Nursing.
Experience:
  • Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valleywise Health, must have at least one year of Valleywise Health experience as an RN and be in good standing.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice:
    • Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer. Must obtain TNCC, ATCN, or TCAR within twelve (12) months of hire or transfer. Critical Care Certified Nurse (CCRN) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
