Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a night shift acute care hospital position requiring a minimum of 2 years OR experience and a CA RN license in hand.
Job Details
• Acute care hospital setting within the Operating Room unit,
• 212 staffed beds,
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30,
• Weekend requirement of at least every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs,
• On-call required, estimated 70-90 hours over a 6 week period split evenly among caregivers,
• Weekend/Holiday call coverage from 0700-0700,
• May float between Main OR and Outpatient Surgery Center,
• Uses Epic charting system,
• Facility may call off shifts once per two-week pay period,
Job Requirements
• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission,
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required (3 years preferred),
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred,
• Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted,
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred,
• Experience with surgical procedures across specialties including vascular, gynecology, orthopedic, neurology, general surgery, urology, ENT, thoracic, and robotics preferred,
• LA fire card completed within the last 30 days required,
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required,
Additional Information
• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties and procedures,
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; OR scrubs provided,
• Free parking available onsite,
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day),
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius,
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility,
• RTO must be submitted at time of application with minimal requests preferred to avoid delays,
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state system as needed,
• Must disclose any license or background check issues upfront; no open license hits will be approved
