Job description

Overview

Explore a career with Mercy Hospital, a 375-bed not-for-profit hospital and member of Catholic Health, which was voted a Top Workplace on Long Island for two consecutive year by Newsday. Mercy offers a NYS designated Stroke Center, Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and has received Pathway to Excellence designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center - the only hospital in the region and one of only two in NY State to receive this prestigious award.

Job Details

Residency Program:  The 52 week, three 12.5 hour shift, curriculum consists of classroom didactics, skill labs, simulation labs, a two-week critical care course, and clinical hours with the Clinical Nurse Educators and preceptors. After the first 16-week of the program, the nursing residents are transitioned to a full-time clinical setting with their preceptors, which includes a two-week rotation with The emergency Department Critical Care nurse.

During 1 year program-

ACLS and PALS certification will be obtained

8 CEUs of Stroke and 4 CEUs of Trauma will be obtained

Trauma nursing certification

Essential Critical Care Orientation Class

Seminars

Requirements:

  • New Graduate from BSN Program
  • Overall required GPA 3.3, Nursing GPA 3.5
  • Application Submission, Interview ED leadership, ED staff and Human resources
  • BLS certification
