Job description

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery
Location: Washington, DC 20037
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Shift: 3 x 12-Hour Day Shifts
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and antepartum patients (approximately 17 weeks gestation and above)
  • Manage vaginal deliveries and assist with Cesarean Sections (C-sections)
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for obstetric procedures
  • Perform OB triage assessments and continuous maternal-fetal monitoring
  • Care for patients undergoing procedures such as External Cephalic Versions and occasional Cerclage placements
  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Utilize fetal monitoring systems and document accurately in Cerner EMR and Fetalink documentation system
  • Ensure safe, high-quality care for mothers and newborns
Required Qualification:
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
  • Current RN License in Washington, DC or Compact State License (if applicable)
  • Experience with Cerner EMR required
Current Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in high-acuity Labor & Delivery units
  • Experience with OB triage and surgical obstetrics
Distance Requirement:
  • Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify
