Job description

Summary / Position Purpose:
The Product Manager role will be focused on building and accelerating the development, evaluation, and execution of portfolio expansion opportunities with existing and new suppliers in the Electronic Production Supplies category.
This open position is for the category that includes products like Solder, Adhesives, Silicones, Chemicals and Labels with brands including 3M, Brady, Momentive, Chemtronics, Henkel, Kester and Indium. The objective of these tasks will be to use the tools we have developed as well as the data vendors share to make smart decisions on new stock product. This role will be required to communicate with vendors and can analyze internal and external information to determine the performance of products. An understanding of product and its importance to organic growth as well as the ability to make sound product decisions that will impact inventory and sales.
Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
  • Review current supplier offering for opportunities to improve our stock offering for customer needs.
  • Engage with suppliers on NPI's from vendors.
  • Review current pricing as compared to vendors to ensure products are competitively marketed.
  • Meet monthly quotas for new product additions.
  • Lead Vendor QBR's.
  • Directly and Indirectly responsible for product quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Ability to learn product offering and how it relates to customers and ultimately growth.
  • Analyze competitors' product position to understand opportunities for expansion.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Strong Excel skills that allow analyzing large data sets.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Power Point).
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable identifying, managing, and escalating risks and issues as needed.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Communication and team working skills.
  • Exceptional follow-through and initiative.
  • Ability to work with aggressive timelines and deliver.
  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
  • Previous product management or related experience in Industrial or Electronics distribution a plus.
  • College Degree preferred or minimum 4 years of product management.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Production Supplies and Electromechanical products a plus
