Position Overview

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Sr. Associate Product Manager (Sr. AMP) to join our Product Management organization and work on the EZLynx Agency Management System. We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record for managing and implementing multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic environment.

As Sr. AMP, you will handle research, analysis, and documentation of business requirements, user stories, use cases, user interfaces, defect management, and other product lifecycle specifications.

Additionally, you will work as a liaison among stakeholders to understand the structures, policies, and operations, as well as work cross-functionally with product engineering, quality assurance, business operations, and external stakeholders to build customer-facing solutions for the insurance industry.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development and execution of product strategies for a feature area or a Aid in User Feedback and Research
    • Develop understanding of user needs based on user data and cross-functional collaboration
  • Assist in Market Research
    • Conduct market research to identify and/or validate customer needs.
    • Conduct market analysis and provide insights to support product decisions.
  • Establish Product Priorities
    • Align product backlog and sprints with the product roadmap and key business objectives.
    • Collaborate with Product Managers to ensure sprint plans reflect roadmap priorities and timelines.
  • Promote Product Strategy
    • Assist in the formulation and execution of product strategies.
    • Define user stories and acceptance criteria for product features.
    • Support the development of business cases for enhancements by analyzing user feedback, usage data, and competitive benchmarks.
  • Communicate the Value of Projects
    • Communicate the value of individual features to the go-to-market team.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure messaging aligns with use needs.
  • Engage in the Product Development Lifecycle
    • Participate in solution design ceremonies such as design reviews, customer research sessions, and architecture design meetings
    • Participate in product development ceremonies such as backlog refinements, sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and sprint retros
    • Define product requirements
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support development
    • Produce release note documentation for GTM
    • Write user stories, use cases, scenarios, reports, business cases, and user manuals resulting from the business process flows
    • Conduct business acceptance testing
    • Act as the liaison between the customer community (external and internal customers), the software development team, customer support, and product marketing

We're looking for someone who:

  • Can work on a Hybrid schedule in our Lewisville, TX office
  • Can work after hours and weekends when needed to meet project timelines

Your experience may include:

  • 2+ years of Scrum focused Product experience
  • 4+ years transferable experience (non-PM related)
  • Complete understanding of all Scrum ceremonies
  • Able to confidently run backlog refinements and sprint reviews
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and the Product Lifecycle components
  • Proven track record of completing development projects
  • Able to manage multiple projects spanning one or more development teams
  • Great communication skills (oral and written)
  • Able to negotiate deliverables for conflicting interests
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Science, Computer Science, or related disciplines

You may have other skills or credentials, including:

  • PSPO I, PSPO II or other Product Owner certification is a plus
  • SaaS experience is a plus
  • AI experience is a plus
  • Familiarity the US personal insurance markets and insurance agency processes

Our targeted starting base salary in the United States for this position ranges from $85,000 – $100,000 USD. To determine a new team member's starting pay, we consider a variety of factors, including someone's depth, breadth, and variety of experience, skills, and responsibilities. Depending on the role, team members may also be eligible to participate in additional compensation plans such as bonus and commission.
