Job Description

Position Purpose:

In this role, the Senior HR Data & Reporting Analyst is responsible for gathering, structuring, and analyzing data to support Veolia's HR analytics and reporting needs. This role supports the development and automation of complex HR data reports, analyses, and dashboards leveraging report software from multiple systems.  This position will collaborate primarily with HR but also across business functions to manage reporting, analyze trends in data, and make recommendations to the leadership team, in order to drive strategic decisions or satisfy business requirements. 

The Sr. HR Data & Reporting Analyst possesses very strong technical skills, builds and manages project plans, ensures adherence to project schedules, maintains a data orientation and can work effectively with peers to set technology priorities.  This position also serves as a lead point-of-contact for assigned functional areas and assists subject matter experts with data audits, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, report writing, analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities and other technical projects as assigned.  The Sr. HR Data & Reporting Analyst designs and maintains HR data models that support organizational needs and align with data governance policies and industry standards.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Gather, structure, and analyze data from multiple sources, presenting the key findings of data in a secure, usable format to senior leadership.
  • Independently build reliable, accurate and cross-matched reports of high complexity for data research, troubleshooting, and data audits.
  • Design, develop and manage reports and dashboards designed to provide management a view into people HR metrics and ensure the timely development and distribution of established periodic reports aligned with data privacy policies and secure delivery methods.
  • Lead and collaborate with technical staff, providing feedback and user/technical specifications, regarding the design of reports and dashboards for leadership.
  • Identify data gaps, perform analysis, and work with relevant stakeholders to recommend solutions.
  • Research and troubleshoot complex data issues to ensure data quality.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to expand and enhance analytics capability, continue to improve processes, explore/adopt new tools.
  • Help mentor new/junior team members.
  • Lead collaboration with various business partners on project requests, prioritization and delivery.
  • Monitor key metrics to identify when further analysis is required.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure data models accurately represent business processes and data requirements.
  • Evaluate existing data structures and recommend improvements for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with data governance policies and guidelines.
  • Use business applications (PeopleSoft, Workforce Software) and statistical/analytical tools to develop interactive presentations and data visualizations with advanced and complex data sets.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, analysis, HR preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Min of 5 years experience in analysis, business analyst, research experience or related required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • General knowledge of Human Resource and Payroll practices.
  • Ability to exercise sound discretion and maintain strict confidentiality regarding PII and reporting.
  • Workday report writing experience required; PRISM analytics preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data interpretation, logical thinking, and timely, practical decision-making.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to balance day-to-day tasks and embrace fast-paced organizational change.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt and adjust to change, quick learner with technology aptitude, and excellent customer service attitude.
  • Advanced skill in data modeling and report/dashboard development using PowerBI, Excel and/or HRIS based tools. 
  • Strong knowledge in Excel; Google applications a plus (eMail, Docs, Sheets, Charts).
