We're seeking a Lead Data Analyst – Medical Data to play a critical role in guiding the collection, quality, and analysis of complex medical data that powers industry-leading research, reporting, and data products. If you're passionate about data quality, process improvement, stakeholder collaboration, and solving complex business challenges, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working alongside a talented and supportive team.

This position will work in a flexible-hybrid environment. The preferred candidate would be local within a commutable distance to our Boca Raton, FL headquarters.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Lead Data Analyst, you'll serve as a key subject matter expert, influencing how critical medical data is collected, validated, and leveraged across the organization and the broader workers compensation industry, including:

  • Lead Data Quality & Operational Excellence
    • Coordinate team activities and priorities to ensure operational goals and service commitments are achieved
    • Oversee data collection, validation, and quality assurance processes for medical data assets
    • Identify process gaps, root causes, and opportunities for operational improvement
    • Develop and implement new workflows, procedures, and business solutions to meet evolving industry needs
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert
    • Act as the primary resource for complex medical data questions and issue resolution
    • Provide guidance on data standards, data structures, reporting, and data management practices
    • Partner with business and technical teams to resolve data issues impacting multiple systems, databases, and data providers
    • Create detailed business requirements to support system enhancements and process improvements
  • Partner & Communicate Across the Industry
    • Build strong relationships with external data providers, independent rating bureaus, and regulatory agencies
    • Lead industry communications, training programs, presentations, and technical discussions
    • Develop and maintain clear documentation, team procedures, and operational standards
    • Prepare reports, findings, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support Team Success
    • Review work for quality and consistency while coaching team members on complex issues
    • Help drive continuous improvement initiatives across teams
    • Support change management efforts involving new systems, processes, and technologies

WHAT IT TAKES:

  • Bachelor's degree or additional related work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in:
    • Data analysis
    • Business operations
    • Data management
    • Financial services, healthcare, insurance, or similar analytical environments
  • 3+ years of experience:
    • Creating and maintaining technical documentation
    • Analyzing and reporting data using Microsoft Excel
  • Strong ability to:
    • Investigate and resolve complex data issues
    • Analyze trends and identify root causes
    • Develop new processes and operational workflows
    • Translate business needs into system and data requirements
    • Mentor multiple team members
  • Experience leading across teams to coordinate priorities and achieve shared objectives
  • Advanced communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency with:
  • SQL, PL/SQL, or similar relational database query tools
  • Microsoft Excel

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Workers’ Compensation industry data and processes knowledge
  • Experience with data extraction, testing, or validation tools
  • Experience developing reports for data analysis

  • Insurance Data Management Association (IDMA) certifications
