Spartan Shield Solutions is a rapidly growing veteran-owned Fractional CFO and Outsourced Accounting firm based in Arlington, VA. We serve organizations across all industries, with a focus on government contractors. Spartan Shield works closely with its clients to improve operations, productivity and organization while meeting compliance requirements. We do this through increasing access to up-to-date financial information, reducing inefficiencies and freeing senior management to focus more on revenue generating activities.

Spartan Shield is seeking a vibrant, driven individual to help the continued success of the company in a Business Development Associate capacity. The Business Development Associate will work closely with the Business Development Manager and CEO and be instrumental in generating new business, participating in networking events and conferences, and building lasting relationships with potential clients. Successful candidates will have an outgoing personality, is comfortable speaking to many different personalities, and enjoys networking at a variety of events.

A quality work-life balance is a top priority; therefore, we provide a generous PTO policy and telecommuting options. Spartan Shield offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package. Must be local to the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area as this role is a remote role with travel to multiple local events in the DMV area weekly. Out of town travel will be around 10 times per year.

***Compensation for this role includes a base salary of $50,000–$90,000, along with a competitive commission structure. Successful candidates can expect On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $100,000 and $140,000.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1+ year of business development and prospecting new clients
  • Background in Government Contractor experience a plus
  • Ability to multitask and possess strong customer interaction skills
  • Proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft applications and other standard office applications
  • Must have the ability to solve problems, apply new information, learn new skills, and possess critical thinking
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and not require sponsorship now or in the future


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide superior customer service
  • Attend multiple networking events and conferences on a weekly basis
  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of company services and pricing structures
  • Research and confirm leads, initiate outreach, and build meaningful engagement with perspective clients
  • Overcome objections and secure meetings with Executives of prospective clients
  • Supporting the Director of Business Development in understanding prospective clients' needs and proposing appropriate service solutions
  • Prepare sales presentations, proposals, and contract agreements
  • Travel to local networking events and clients meetings weekly
  • Travel out of town 5-10 times per year
