Job description

Position Summary

The Business Development Analyst plays a critical role in supporting loan sale and servicing transactions by serving as the primary liaison between clients, legal counsel, and internal business partners throughout the contract review and execution process. As one of the first points of contact for both loan sale and purchase transactions, this role is responsible for driving collaboration, ensuring timely execution of legal agreements, and delivering an exceptional client experience.

This position works in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment where strong relationship management, communication, and organizational skills are essential. The Business Development Analyst partners closely with clients, client counsel, internal Legal, Business Development, and operational teams to facilitate the successful transfer of loans and mortgage servicing rights while helping resolve issues and move transactions to closing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and legal counsel throughout the contract review and execution process.
  • Coordinate the review and execution of:
    • Pooling and Servicing Agreements (PSAs)
    • Whole Loan Servicing Agreements
    • Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) Purchase Agreements
    • Other legal documents related to loan sale and servicing transactions
  • Build strong relationships with clients by providing timely, accurate, and professional communication via phone and email.
  • Work closely with clients, client counsel, and internal Legal to facilitate document revisions, answer questions, and resolve issues throughout the contract review process.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Operations, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to ensure transactions progress efficiently from initial agreement through execution.
  • Manage multiple transactions simultaneously while tracking document status, key milestones, and execution deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records and coordinate updates to internal systems containing executed agreement data and transaction details.
  • Provide regular status updates, identify potential roadblocks, and proactively recommend solutions to keep transactions on schedule.
  • Work with clients and internal cross-functional teams to support agreement execution while balancing client needs and company objectives.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives that enhance the client experience and increase operational efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Mortgage servicing, secondary mortgage market, or financial services experience preferred.
  • Experience reviewing or working with legal contracts or servicing agreements is preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills with a client-first mindset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret business and legal documents and communicate key concepts clearly.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
