Job description

Valley Baptist Physician Network is seeking a neurosurgeon to join their DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center, the only one south of San Antonio. This role offers immediate patient volume within a 586-bed ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, supported by a fully integrated neuro team and cutting-edge technology. This is an opportunity for significant clinical impact, financial growth, and long-term stability in a community with genuine need.

Practice Info

  • Solo neurosurgeon with a fully built-out neuro infrastructure: two endovascular neurologists, two neurohospitalists, outpatient neurology (general, epilepsy, stroke), and two physiatrists
  • Clinic located in the professional building directly attached to Valley Baptist Medical Center - Harlingen
  • State-of-the-art 14-bed Neuro ICU
  • Privileges at Valley Baptist - Harlingen with potential for additional privileges at sister facility in Brownsville
  • EMR: Cerner

Responsibilities

  • Approximately two clinic days per week, seeing 15-20 patients per day
  • Perform surgery as needed with block OR time available
  • Participate in 10 days/month of paid primary call
  • Participate in 10 backup call days (backup rarely activated)

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary plus production bonuses
  • Paid call compensation at $2,800 per day
  • Paid call at $2,800/day in addition to base salary and production bonuses
