The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine at Augusta University's Medical College of Georgia invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek candidates with expertise in human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and brain organoid models.
The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations and continued development of the Brain Organoid Core, optimize brain organoid systems, provide scientific expertise and technical support, and participate in collaborative research using human iPSC-derived cellular and brain organoid models. The candidate will be also encouraged to pursue extramural funding to advance the Brain Organoid Core.
The successful candidate will stay current with advances in stem cell biology and brain organoid technologies and implement emerging approaches to further enhance the Core's capabilities.
Responsibilities
Research -
Developing, optimizing, and implementing methodologies for the culture, maintenance, characterization, genetic engineering, and differentiation of human iPSCs; generating and validating novel iPSC lines; and establishing and applying diverse brain organoid models.
Required Qualifications
PhD from an accredited institution
Assistant Professor - Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
Assistant Professor - Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
