Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
The incumbent will perform a wide variety of neurodiagnostic studies, including conventional nerve conduction studies, repetitive nerve stimulation, cranial nerve stimulation and autonomic nerve testing. Will assist the physicians in specialized neurodiagnostic studies in the laboratory at the bedside of patients admitted to the hospital and at the satellite offices. The incumbent will be expected to take medical histories as they relate to neurological diagnosis, prepare and position patients for the conduct of electrodiagnostic examination, including electromyography. The incumbent will maintain the rooms, calibrate equipment, stock supplies and order supplies. The incumbent will perform clerical duties in relation to patient records and billing documentation, as well as aid the medical staff as directed by the manager. The incumbent will schedule patients for electrodiagnostic testing in the Electronic Medical Records system.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Must be eligible to take the EEG Exam for ABRET credentials (be a student or graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited END program, OR associate's degree plus one year experience in END, OR at least three years experience in END)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Current BLS certification required by time of hire
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Experience with or willingness to learn interoperative nerve monitoring (IONM)
  • Experience performing all phases of neurodiagnostic testing
