Job description

Position Summary...The Network Documentation & Wireless Validation Specialist is responsible for documenting network infrastructure, supporting deployment activities, and validating wireless network performance. This role creates and maintains network maps identifying IDF/MDF locations, structured cabling, and access point placements, provides remote support during network cutovers, and reviews post-installation wireless survey data in Hamina to ensure deployments meet design, coverage, and performance standards.

The Network Documentation team ensures enterprise network deployments are thoroughly documented, accurately implemented, and validated against design requirements. They develop detailed network maps covering IDF/MDF cabinets, structured cabling, and wireless access points, serving as a reliable reference for network operations. The team supports field activities remotely during network cutovers and resolves deployment issues. Post-installation, they analyze wireless survey data to confirm coverage, performance, and compliance with design standards. Their work guarantees that each network deployment meets operational and business objectives before project completion, supporting seamless network functionality and reliability. What you'll do...
  • Create and maintain network maps showing IDF/MDF cabinets, cabling infrastructure, and wireless access point locations.
  • Update as-built documentation following installations and network changes.
  • Provide phone and virtual support during network cutovers and deployment activities.
  • Review post-installation wireless survey results in Hamina.
  • Identify coverage, capacity, and performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field technicians to ensure deployment accuracy and successful project delivery.

What you'll bring:
  • Experience with enterprise wired and wireless networking.
  • Industry certification or vendor equivilent; CWNA and/or CWDP
  • Familiarity with Hamina, Ekahau, or similar wireless planning and survey tools.
  • Understanding of structured cabling, telecommunications rooms, and network infrastructure.
  • Ability to interpret floor plans, network diagrams, and installation documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to support field teams remotely during critical deployment and cutover activities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy and quality.
