Job Summary:

The Senior Networking Systems Administrator (Linux) will be responsible for managing Linux operating systems, ensuring system security, and providing technical support for infrastructure systems and applications.
Responsibilities:
• Must have experience installing, updating, and upgrading Linux Operating Systems (OS).
• Must have experience with utilities used to manage Linux OS disk file systems.
• Must have experience analyzing and implementing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements in Linux OS.
• Must have experience with utilities used to create and configure network connections in Linux OS.
• Must have experience implementing Windows Active Directory User Authentication in Linux OS.
• Must be proficient in reading and modifying User/Group permissions in Linux OS.
• Must be proficient in reading, analyzing, and troubleshooting errors within Linux OS.
• The selected individual will be responsible for monitoring infrastructure systems, applications, and processes, and for ensuring that all issues are identified, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
• She/he will provide support for all infrastructure systems and will respond to hardware and software incidents and work with senior system administrators, at times remotely from other locations.
• Quickly responding to IT Help Desk calls and emails in a professional manner; ensuring issues are resolved and/or escalated to the appropriate teams; and following up with teams and users to ensure issues are satisfactorily remediated.
• Identifying, troubleshooting, and correcting hardware and software issues including network connectivity.
• Utilizing enterprise monitoring solutions to identify alarms that have been triggered against the various environments.
• Proactively contacting customers when infrastructure processes are significantly delayed or may impact their ability to complete a business function on time.
• Executing the process for managing information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning for equipment suites in accordance with the System Security Plans for these systems to rapidly and accurately identify and remediate IAVAs.
• Initiating IAVA responses and system security scans, completing remediation, and extending IAVA patches and security updates on various IT and network systems.
• Providing technical assistance to companion work groups in support of overlapping projects such as implementing IT enhancements and optimizing systems.
• Maintaining good inter-departmental relations, communicating with users, and publishing status of system outages.
• Participating in the creation and ongoing maintenance of documentation to ensure clear, concise and accurate information is readily available to assist with incident resolution.
Qualifications:
Required:
• To be eligible for this position you must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph within the last 6 years.
• Must have at least 5 years of direct, hands-on experience providing assistance to users in an IT customer service capacity.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience working on an IT/software program that utilizes complex equipment/systems (ex. Network Switches, Routers, LANs, & cabling, Windows/Linux operating systems, VMware, etc.).
• Must have experience installing, updating, and upgrading Linux Operating Systems (OS).

• Must be able to respond to emergency system administration, operations, and maintenance problems, on a limited as-needed on-call basis.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time to local program locations (not overnight). Additional travel to CONUS and OCONUS location(s) may also be required (overnight).
• To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the requirements for one of the following skill levels: Senior: Five (5) years experience as a SA, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Expert: Ten (10) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
