SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and engineering IP networks for InfoIMAGE and is a key member of our network operations team, and will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls, as well as Dell and Cisco switches. The Network Engineer expertise will be essential in ensuring the security, stability, and performance of our network infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities reflect the definition of essential functions for this position but do not restrict the tasks that may be assigned or acquired. Senior Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
Firewall Management:
  • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls to ensure network security and compliance with industry best practices.
  • Perform firewall rule analysis, optimization, and troubleshooting to enhance network performance and mitigate security risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop firewall policies and procedures aligned with organizational requirements.
  • Implement and manage VPN tunnels and remote access solutions to facilitate secure communication across the network.
Switch Configuration:
  • Configure and maintain Dell and Cisco switches, including VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), link aggregation, and Quality of Service (QoS).
  • Ensure proper network segmentation and traffic isolation through VLAN configuration.
  • Implement and optimize STP to ensure loop-free and resilient network connectivity.
  • Utilize link aggregation techniques for efficient utilization and redundancy of network links.
  • Implement QoS policies to prioritize critical network traffic and optimize performance.
Network Troubleshooting and Optimization:
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and perform root cause analysis to resolve problems promptly.
  • Conduct regular network performance monitoring and capacity planning to ensure optimal network operation.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other IT teams to evaluate, recommend, and implement network infrastructure upgrades or enhancements.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to create comprehensive network documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS (required):
Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Network Engineer, with a focus on Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls, as well as Dell and Cisco switches.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Palo Alto and Fortinet firewall platforms.
  • Proficient in configuring and managing Dell and Cisco switches, including experience with VLANs, STP, link aggregation, and QoS.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
  • Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA), Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
