Job description

OVERVIEW 

The Manager of Warehouse Technical Support is responsible for leading and developing a team of Warehouse Support Associates who provide technical support for all technology used in warehouse operations. This role ensures the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of warehouse systems, devices, and automation that enable daily production, inventory movement, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving activities. 

The Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for warehouse technology support, partnering closely with Operations, IT, Engineering, and third-party vendors to maintain a stable, efficient, and technology-enabled warehouse environment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Team Leadership & Management 

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Warehouse Support Associates, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and scheduling 
  • Establish clear expectations, workflows, and service-level standards for warehouse technical support 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement 
  • Ensure appropriate coverage for on-site and remote support across shifts, weekends, and peak periods 

Warehouse Technology Support Oversight 

  • Oversee day-to-day technical support for warehouse devices, systems, and infrastructure, including: 
  • Handheld scanners, tablets, workstations, printers, and mobile devices 
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related applications 
  • Conveyors, sortation systems, and warehouse automation tools 
  • Network connectivity and basic hardware/software troubleshooting 
  • Ensure rapid triage, escalation, and resolution of issues that could impact production or safety 
  • Monitor system health, recurring issues, and root causes to prevent downtime 

Operations & Cross-Functional Partnership 

  • Partner with Warehouse Operations leadership to align technology support with operational priorities and peak demands 
  • Collaborate with Corporate IT, Engineering, and vendors on system upgrades, rollouts, maintenance, and issue resolution 
  • Act as the warehouse point of contact for technology incidents, planned changes, and improvement initiatives 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Required 

  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations support, IT support, or technical operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role 
  • Hands-on experience supporting warehouse technology, automation, or distribution center systems 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and basic networking 
  • Proven ability to manage and develop hourly or technical support teams in a fast-paced environment 
  • Experience with equipment and asset tracking 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 

Preferred 

  • Experience in retail, e-commerce, or high-volume distribution environments 
  • Familiarity with WMS platforms, RF systems, conveyor systems, and warehouse automation 
  • Experience with ticketing systems, incident management, and performance metrics 
  • Project management experience supporting system implementations or upgrades 
  • Experience with MDM tools 
  • Experience with managing multiple warehouses 

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company's total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
