Job description

Build Relationships. Solve Business Challenges. Drive Growth.
At GHJ Search & Staffing, we don't just fill jobs-we help middle-market companies build exceptional accounting and finance organizations.
As part of GHJ, a nationally recognized accounting and advisory firm with 300 employees, 26 partners, and offices in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Jose, Denver, and Buffalo, our Search & Staffing professionals have a unique platform to deliver far more than recruiting. We partner with CFOs, Controllers, private equity firms, and business owners to provide interim staffing, executive search, direct hire recruiting, outsourced accounting, fractional CFO services, audit, tax, transaction advisory, and other consulting solutions.
We're looking for an ambitious Business Solutions Manager who thrives in a consultative sales environment and enjoys developing long-term client relationships while recruiting top accounting and finance talent.
This role offers the opportunity to build your own book of business while collaborating with one of the country's leading accounting and advisory firms.
Why GHJ?
At GHJ, you'll have the resources of a nationally recognized CPA and advisory firm combined with the entrepreneurial culture of a growing search and staffing practice.
Position Overview
The Business Solutions Manager is responsible for both business development and recruiting within the accounting and finance marketplace.
This is a true "full desk" opportunity where you'll develop new client relationships, expand existing accounts, recruit top accounting and finance professionals, and manage the hiring process from initial client engagement through successful placement.
Unlike traditional staffing firms, you'll leverage GHJ's extensive accounting and advisory platform to become a trusted Human Capital Advisor capable of solving broader business challenges for your clients.
What You'll Enjoy
  • Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission
  • Cross-sell incentive program across Audit, Tax, Advisory, Outsourced Accounting, Fractional CFO, and Search & Staffing services
  • Hybrid work environment
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k)
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Ongoing professional development and sales training
  • Access to a strong referral network of partners and professionals across multiple service lines
  • Opportunity to build trusted relationships with CFOs, Controllers, private equity firms, and middle-market executives
  • Clear career advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing practice

Key Responsibilities
Business Development
  • Develop new business opportunities with middle-market companies, private equity firms, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Build relationships with CFOs, Controllers, CEOs, HR leaders, and finance executives.
  • Generate opportunities through networking, referrals, LinkedIn, outbound prospecting, and strategic client visits.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand hiring initiatives, workforce planning, and organizational challenges.
  • Present GHJ's full suite of Search & Staffing services including:
    • Interim Accounting & Finance Professionals
    • Direct Hire Recruiting
    • Executive Search
    • Fractional CFO & Controller Solutions
  • Identify opportunities to introduce clients to GHJ's Audit, Tax, Advisory, Transaction Advisory, and Outsourced Accounting teams.

Recruiting
  • Recruit accounting and finance professionals for interim, temporary, direct hire, and executive-level positions.
  • Source candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, networking, referrals, and other recruiting tools.
  • Conduct candidate interviews and assess technical and cultural fit.
  • Present qualified candidates to clients and coordinate the interview process.
  • Manage offer negotiations and placement logistics.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of accounting and finance talent.

Relationship Management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to both clients and candidates.
  • Maintain consistent communication throughout the recruiting process.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service that results in repeat business and referrals.
  • Stay informed on accounting, finance, and labor market trends.

Qualifications
We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving business problems, and creating opportunities for both clients and candidates.
Preferred qualifications include:
  • 2+ years of experience in staffing, recruiting, business development, or professional services sales
  • Experience selling staffing, recruiting, consulting, SaaS, or other B2B solutions preferred
  • Strong prospecting and business development skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience

Accounting, finance, or CPA firm experience is a plus but not required.
Who Thrives Here
Successful Business Solutions Managers are:
  • Curious and naturally relationship-driven
  • Competitive and motivated by uncapped earning potential
  • Consultative rather than transactional
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and developing new business
  • Passionate about helping companies build exceptional finance teams
  • Energized by networking and connecting people with opportunities
  • Interested in becoming a trusted advisor-not just a recruiter
