Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Network/Server Administrator DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform network and server administration for all Meskwaki Tribal Operations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain the Tribal organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), data communications network, and operating systems.
  • Ability to set up and configure new devices such as servers, switches, routers, etc. Load and maintain server hardware and OS.
  • Create and maintain an Active Directory network.
  • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups.
  • Plan yearly security testing of the network and server rights.
  • May lead or assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.
  • Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. Monitor disk usage and backup systems.
  • Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses.
  • Ability to monitor and perform updates, upgrades, patches and maintenance on all backend hardware and enterprise applications.
  • Work a variety of Trouble Tickets from a Help Desk system.
  • Create/consult on network plans for new facilities.
  • Implement and provide technical support for voice services and equipment, such as private branch exchange, voice mail system, and telecom system.
  • Coordinate with vendors and company personnel to facilitate purchases. Schedule and help perform repair and maintenance with vendors.
  • Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
  • Helps to enhance the overall skills of the team through teaching others and learning from them as well.
  • Prepare documents, vendor files etc. needed for annual audit as requested by independent auditors or other official reports and information needed by Tribal Leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Information Technology degree or Computer Science degree from a reputable college or university plus 4-years hands on experience with servers and networks in an enterprise environment or a combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer Microsoft and Security Certifications
  • Must be able to lift and carry approximately 50 lbs.
  • May need to work odd hours to avoid affecting regular business.
  • A self-starter that can take minimal direction and run with it.
  • Prefer Certifications in Networks and especially CISCO
  • Prefer project management experience
  • Experience with VMware.
  • Experience maintaining a secure network environment.
  • Experience in keeping private information only available to appropriate personnel on a need to know basis.
  • Must submit to and successfully complete a background investigation.

SUPERVISION:

  • Supervised by the Information Technology Director.

SALARY LEVEL:

  • Annual Salary Range: $76,523- $108,929
