Job Title: Sr Network Security Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Duration: 6 Months Plus
Description:

Seeking a highly qualified Network & Network Security contractor to support the Network & Voice Operations team in implementing critical network security enhancements, infrastructure modernization initiatives, and operational improvements. This role is ideal for an experienced networking professional with deep expertise in enterprise network architecture, security, and operations, including hands-on experience with modern Cisco switching platforms and Cisco Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs).
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct site surveys and develop comprehensive assessments and reports on power and fiber redundancy for core network infrastructure, including Provider Edge (PE), Provider (P), and firewall devices
• Perform Cisco IOS and firmware upgrades on switches, routers, firewalls, and related network infrastructure using approved software releases
• Review, assess, and optimize enterprise network management and monitoring platforms, including Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Thousand Eyes, and Spectrum
• Perform system patching, security vulnerability remediation, compliance validation, and certification reporting activities
• Support operational activities through ServiceNow ticket response, troubleshooting, and documentation of technical decisions and implementation outcomes
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to maintain network reliability, security, and performance
Qualifications:
• Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification, or equivalent demonstrated experience in enterprise networking and network security
• Minimum of five (5) years and preferred up to ten (10) years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise network and security environments
• Extensive experience with Cisco enterprise switching platforms and Cisco Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs)
• Working knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC), and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across technical and business teams
Preferred:
• Current and active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
• Knowledgeable with enterprise monitoring, reporting, and operational support processes
• Experience with network security compliance, risk management, and cybersecurity best practices
• Experience supporting public sector agencies, or other large-scale enterprise IT environments
