Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

Fred Hutch operates eight clinical care sites that provide medical oncology, infusion, radiation, proton therapy and related services, and network affiliations with hospitals in five states. Working within the Immunotherapy Integrated Research Center's Project Management Office (IIRC PMO), the IIRC Project Manager II manages a portfolio of complex projects. The IIRC PMO leads project teams that include cross-functional Center groups such as the IIRC Clinical Research Operations Team, Shared Resources, Therapeutic Products Program, and Clinical Research Support, to drive successful execution of translational research partnerships across these programs. The PM II manages internal and external collaborations across multiple departments and workgroups to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met in an efficient manner. This position requires flexibility in a rapidly changing environment, as well as excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall coordination and management of complex clinical trials and clinical research opportunities from early partnerships to trial open.
Project Management
  • Create timelines and track trial implementation progress for financial, contractual, regulatory, and clinical activities.
  • Serve as project/study liaison, representing the project/study to other Center departments, funding sources, affiliated individuals or institutions, and outside organizations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and track action items and deliverables.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations.
  • Triage project issues and ensure solutions are implemented.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to determine prioritization of competing activities.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with faculty members, project sponsors, research administration, administrative departments and peers.
  • Manage multiple projects of varying size as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS in related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of five years post-master's or seven years post-bachelors related project/study management experience in a research setting.
  • Grant and contract experience.
  • Strong supervisory skills and budgeting experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MA/MS
  • Project management certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced meeting organizational, planning, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with managing a multiple project portfolio.
  • Highly effective team player and excellent communicator with an ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders, scientists, and executives with diverse information needs and communications preferences.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with key project artifacts, such as charters, project plans, risk matrices, dashboards, and roles and responsibilities documents (e.g., RACIs).

The annual base salary range for this position is from $88,712 to $133,057, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
