Job description

Overview

MicroTech is currently seeking a Network Operations Lead to support the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Orlando, FL. This position is contingent upon award, one that will offer you the opportunity to be part of a cohesive and dynamic team providing mission critical support.

Responsibilities

Provides technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations.  Plans, organizes, and directs the Network Operations Team to ensure the stable operation of CBP's network infrastructure. Responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, network security, telecommunications systems and service desk.  Responsible for managing and setting priorities for the monitoring and maintenance of network systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, and wireless.  Responsible for managing and setting priorities for the Network Management Operations team.  Provides support to CBP end users, operations personnel, and strategic program management. Ensures effective monitoring and response to hardware, software, and network problems. Coordinates and manages the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities. The Network Operations Team Lead will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL v3, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE 
  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field such as Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Networking and Telecommunications.    
  • A minimum of ten (10) Plus years of senior level networking experience administering enterprise infrastructures in large complex enterprises. 
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts, infrastructure, and equipment (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers). 
  • Experience implementing and administering an enterprise-wide monitoring system for servers, networking devices, and applications. 
  • Showcase leadership abilities by managing projects and teams. 
  • Be proficient in project management and have knowledge of security and compliance issues.
