Job description

Job Summary:
Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe. They are seeking an experienced Enterprise Network Operations Manager to oversee mission-critical enterprise networking operations and provide technical leadership and operational oversight across multiple federal sites.
Responsibilities:
• Lead day-to-day enterprise network operations, engineering support activities, and infrastructure project execution across multiple federal sites and environments.
• Coordinate operational priorities, maintenance activities, and project deliverables with Program leadership and government stakeholders.
• Serve as Routerhead Lead supporting enterprise routing infrastructure across DOE Integrated Network (IN) Plants, Federal Information Exchanges (FIEs), and Laboratory environments.
• Mentor, guide, and provide technical leadership to a team of network engineers, fostering operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Design, engineer, and implement enterprise network enhancements, modernization initiatives, and new site/buildout deployments supporting both data and voice communications services.
• Plan and execute router and switch End-of-Life (EOL) technology refresh initiatives, including standards-based configuration development, STIG-compliant hardening, testing, documentation, and change coordination activities.
• Provide advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 Cisco and Juniper routing/switching configuration, administration, and troubleshooting support in complex IPv4 and IPv6 enterprise environments.
• Troubleshoot and restore service during high-impact network incidents, outages, and degradation events across mission-critical infrastructure.
• Configure and support dynamic routing protocols and enterprise connectivity technologies including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VPNs, and WAN optimization solutions.
• Maintain and improve enterprise monitoring, alerting, and configuration management capabilities using tools such as SolarWinds and related network operations platforms.
• Develop operational metrics, reporting dashboards, and monitoring enhancements to improve network visibility, incident response, and service reliability.
• Support secure communications infrastructure utilizing IPsec tunnels and Type 1 cryptographic equipment in accordance with federal security requirements.
• Maintain COMSEC inventory accountability, monitoring, and reporting processes using systems such as GEMONE and related cryptographic management tools.
• Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements, configuration management processes, STIG standards, operational procedures, and change management policies.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation including network diagrams, standard operating procedures, implementation plans, incident reports, and configuration baselines.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, telecommunications, and infrastructure teams to support integrated enterprise operations and modernization efforts.
• Participate in operational readiness activities, maintenance windows, disaster recovery exercises, and continuity of operations planning.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent professional experience) preferred.
• 12+ years of enterprise network engineering and operations experience in large-scale or mission-critical environments.
• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams, network operations functions, or technical infrastructure programs.
• Deep hands-on expertise with: Cisco routing and switching platforms, Juniper routing and switching platforms, IPv4/IPv6 enterprise networking, Dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VPN and IPsec technologies, WAN/LAN architecture and troubleshooting, Strong understanding of configuration management, change management, and operational governance processes.
• Active TS/SCI or Q/SCI security clearance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and team mentoring skills.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-security federal operational environments.
Preferred:
• Cisco certifications such as: CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure
• Juniper certifications such as: JNCIP, JNCIE
• ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
• Experience supporting Department of Energy (DOE)
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and federal cybersecurity modernization initiatives.
