Job Summary
Supports the management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Prisma Health network infrastructure. Assists in the implementation and optimization of network systems, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring a reliable and secure network environment. Works with senior network engineers and Information Technology (IT) teams to provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of the network.
Essential Functions
  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
  • Assists with the installation, configuration, and management of network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Sets up and configures network devices to ensure smooth connectivity and performance.
  • Provides day-to-day network support and troubleshoot connectivity issues, network failures, and performance problems.
  • Diagnoses and resolves hardware and software issues affecting network performance.
  • Implements basic network security protocols and assist in maintaining network security standards.
  • Works with senior network engineers and IT staff to support larger projects and network upgrades.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network integration with other systems.
  • Works with other IT teams (systems, database, etc.) to integrate network solutions with other systems.
  • Documents all network configurations, changes, and updates in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Available onsite or remote during scheduled or unscheduled network maintenance and outages to assist in new implementations, upgrades, or problem resolution.
  • Shares On-Call rotation duty
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education - Bachelor's degree in related field of study.
  • Experience - No experience required. Two years network experience preferred to include Network Infrastructure with familiarity of routing, switching, wireless, and security systems.

In Lieu Of
  • In lieu of the educational and experience requirements noted above an equivalent combination of work/academic experience may be considered (i.e., High school diploma and four years of experience or Associate degree and two years of experience).

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
  • Valid driver's license, an acceptable motor vehicle record as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart, and proof of auto insurance.
  • Network + preferred
  • Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of at least two of the listed Network Technologies including Routing, Switching, ACI, VPN (Site to Site and Client), Firewall, DNS, DHCP, Load Balancers, Wireless, Identity Services, Intrusion Detection Systems, Authentication Systems, Data Center Technologies, Packet Capture and Analysis, IPV4 and IPV6, Unified Communications, and VoIP Technologies, Packet Analysis - the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues using network protocol analyzers.
  • Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, etc.).
  • Understanding of Network OSI model and IP addressing and cabling standards
  • Familiarity with networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and diagnostic tools (Wireshark, ping, traceroute, etc.).
  • Understanding of wireless networking concepts and technologies.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
