Senior Network Engineer


Job Summary
OMB is looking for a skilled Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our enterprise network infrastructure. The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of OMB Bank's enterprise network infrastructure. This role serves as the primary technical expert for all internal networking systems, cloud platforms, communication systems, and business continuity technologies. The Senior Network Engineer ensures the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of OMB Bank's critical systems in alignment with banking regulations, security standards, and organizational goals.

ยท Design, implement, and maintain OMB Bankโ€™s LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and network access controls.

ยท Monitor network performance and availability, troubleshoot issues, conduct capacity planning, and maintain network documentation and configuration standards.

ยท On-premises AD & Identity Management: Design and administer Active Directory infrastructure (domain controllers, GPOs, user accounts, OUs, and RBAC) while integrating with Azure AD via AD Connect for hybrid identity and SSO.

ยท Security & Supporting Services: Monitor AD health, audit logs, and authentication events to detect and remediate anomalies, and manage associated DNS, DHCP, PAM, and banking compliance requirements.

ยท Azure & M365 Administration: Administer Microsoft Azure (virtual networks, VMs, Azure AD) and the full Microsoft 365 tenant including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.

ยท Security & Cost Optimization: Implement and enforce cloud security policies, conditional access, and compliance controls while monitoring costs and recommending optimization strategies.

ยท Administer the bankโ€™s VoIP/PBX system including call routing, voicemail, auto-attendants, and SIP trunks, coordinating with telecom vendors for upgrades and issue resolution.

ยท Design and manage secure remote access solutions (SSL VPN, site-to-site VPN, Zero Trust, and MFA) ensuring compliance with banking regulatory and security requirements.

ยท Manage network security infrastructure (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection), conduct vulnerability assessments, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with FFIEC, GLBA, and PCI-DSS.

ยท Oversee administration and maintenance of IP-based camera and access control systems across all branch locations, ensuring proper data retention, access controls, and policy compliance.

ยท Implement and test disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP) for network and IT systems

ยท Maintain and test backup systems, failover procedures, and recovery time objectives (RTOs)

ยท Document DR runbooks and ensure all critical systems have tested recovery procedures

ยท Coordinate with business units to validate continuity capabilities and regulatory DR requirements


Primary Work Location and Schedule:

ยท 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday โ€“ Friday; occasional additional hours as needed.

ยท Full-time โ€“ 40 hours per week average

ยท Travel may be required throughout OMB footprint


Position Requirements:

ยท Bachelorโ€™s degree (BA) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering or related field required

ยท Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered

ยท Minimum 5โ€“7 years of progressive experience in network engineering or a related IT infrastructure role

ยท Prior experience in a financial institution, banking, or highly regulated industry strongly preferred

ยท Demonstrated experience with enterprise network design, cloud platforms, and security systems

ยท CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent Cisco/network certification (required)

ยท Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or higher (preferred)

ยท CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent security certification (preferred)

ยท ITIL Foundation or equivalent (preferred)

ยท Expert-level knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, QoS, and network segmentation

ยท Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 administration

ยท Proficiency with firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or equivalent)

ยท Experience with VoIP systems and unified communications platforms

ยท Familiarity with IP camera/access control systems and physical security integration

ยท Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS) and banking regulations (FFIEC, GLBA)

ยท Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar) a plus

ยท Effective time management skills (capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks)

ยท Demonstrated self-motivation; productive, efficient, organized, accurate work output with no supervision while working independently and within a team environment

ยท Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with daily collaboration with individuals to facilitate production needs and audit parameters

ยท Ability to apply strategic planning, activity coordination, and problem-solving techniques to complex issues of multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
