Job description

We are looking for a Manager of Network Engineering to lead and evolve enterprise network capabilities across a multi-hospital system. This leader will play a critical role in driving strategy, operational excellence, and team performance across a complex, mission-critical environment.

This is a contract-to-hire or full time/ direct hire position with our client  which requires onsite support in Warrenville, IL up to two times per week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead end-to-end network engineering initiatives, including planning, design, implementation, and ongoing operations
  • Manage and develop a high-performing technical team focused on enterprise network services
  • Establish and execute network strategy and roadmap (routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, security)
  • Ensure stability, reliability, scalability, and security of network infrastructure across the enterprise
  • Partner with business and IT leaders to understand needs and deliver scalable technology solutions
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Drive adoption of best practices, tools, and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning
  • Lead or participate in governance forums to prioritize initiatives and align delivery
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation through evaluation of new technologies and industry trends
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects and operational readiness while proactively addressing risks and escalations

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing enterprise systems, infrastructure, or network environments
  • 2+ years of leadership experience (team management, mentoring, or leading projects)
  • Experience within a large enterprise environment (healthcare strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative leadership style with a strong emphasis on culture, engagement, and team development
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution oversight
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude
