About The Company:

Our client is an established organization seeking a Network Engineer to support and enhance its enterprise network infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing and improving network environments while maintaining secure, reliable connectivity across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has strong experience with enterprise networking and wireless technologies, with Cisco Meraki experience highly preferred.

Job Description:

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on wireless network design and optimization. This position will lead network improvement initiatives, maintain secure and reliable connectivity, troubleshoot complex networking issues, and support infrastructure projects across multiple business locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize enterprise wireless network infrastructure to maximize performance, coverage, and reliability.
  • Configure and support Cisco Meraki wireless solutions and access points (preferred).
  • Administer enterprise switching, routing, and network infrastructure across multiple locations.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain firewall appliances while supporting network security initiatives.
  • Manage core network services including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and IP address management.
  • Troubleshoot network performance issues, outages, and connectivity problems while identifying long-term solutions.
  • Support network integrations related to acquisitions, office expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Install, configure, and maintain networking equipment, servers, and supporting infrastructure hardware.
  • Implement security best practices to protect network resources and organizational data.
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure and recommend improvements that increase network performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical business systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Communicate planned maintenance windows and service interruptions with internal users.
  • Ensure network environments meet established uptime, security, and operational standards.
  • Support compliance with internal IT policies and technology standards.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise wireless networks, with Cisco Meraki experience strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience administering enterprise switches using CLI.
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, subnetting, and the OSI model.
  • Experience configuring and supporting firewalls and network security technologies.
  • Working knowledge of wireless networking standards (802.11) and RF best practices.
  • Familiarity with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
  • Experience supporting DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and network segmentation.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, Meraki (ECMS), Network+, Security+, MCSA, or similar are a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or lifts when installing network equipment.
