Job description

Role Summary
This role involves supporting and maintaining the network infrastructure critical to aviation safety operations. The Network Installer will focus on ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of IP-based networks supporting air traffic systems. This is a long-term, full-time position based in the Dallas, TX area, requiring regional travel to multiple FAA locations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the uptime, performance, and security of FAA network infrastructure
  • Install, configure, and support routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
  • Support SD-WAN solutions across distributed environments
  • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling, including single-mode and multi-mode fibers
  • Conduct fiber testing using OTDR and certification tools
  • Monitor systems daily, analyze logs, and respond to network incidents
  • Troubleshoot issues across fiber, SD-WAN, and IP layers, escalating when necessary
  • Support network cutovers, migrations, and failover validation
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and configuration records

Qualifications

  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree with 8+ years of related experience or equivalent combination
  • Proven experience managing enterprise network environments
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment
  • Experience with TDM-to-IP migrations and modern IP-based networks
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN, fiber optics, wireless LAN/WAN technologies
  • Knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network monitoring tools
  • Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and schematics
  • Experience with fiber testing tools such as OTDR
  • Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills

Publishing Pay Range: $61.00 - $66.00 hourly

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
