Job description

Job Title: Technical Project Manager (Data Center Infrastructure)

Location: Carrollton, TX (Onsite)

Duration: 6+ Months

Note : W2 only No C2C

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead data center infrastructure projects, including new data center build-outs, upgrades, and large-scale retrofit initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience along with hands-on knowledge of data center operations, network infrastructure, power, cooling, and vendor management.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of Technical Project Management experience.
  • Experience managing data center build-outs, infrastructure deployments, or large-scale retrofit projects.
  • Strong understanding of data center environments, rack & stack activities, structured cabling, networking, power, and cooling systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and infrastructure layouts.
  • Experience with network equipment installation including switches, routers, and cabling.
  • Knowledge of UPS, PDU, HVAC, and environmental monitoring systems.
  • Experience working with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong risk management, budgeting, scheduling, and project planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA), fiber, and copper media.
  • Familiarity with physical security, fire suppression, and access control systems.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with compliance standards including ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, or Uptime Institute Tier standards.
  • Experience with Agile or Hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Strong documentation skills including SOPs, runbooks, and as-built documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data center infrastructure projects from planning through deployment.
  • Create and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate infrastructure installation activities including rack & stack, networking, power, and cooling.
  • Work closely with facilities, IT, security, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Track project risks, issues, dependencies, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and drive continuous process improvements.
