Overview
The Project Manager, Infrastructure Buildout is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure deployment projects across multiple sites and stakeholders. This role manages end-to-end project activities including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination, risk management, and cross-functional communication to ensure successful infrastructure buildouts delivered on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate has experience managing large-scale infrastructure, construction, network, data center, telecom, industrial, or facilities-related projects in fast-paced environments.Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
  • Lead infrastructure buildout projects from initiation through completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource requirements.
  • Define project scope, deliverables, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects with varying complexity and timelines.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Coordinate with internal teams including engineering, operations, procurement, IT, facilities, and finance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, vendors, consultants, and external partners.
  • Facilitate regular project status meetings and provide executive-level reporting.
  • Ensure vendor deliverables meet contractual, quality, and timeline expectations.
Budget & Risk Management
  • Track project budgets, forecasts, change orders, and expenditures.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
  • Escalate critical issues proactively and drive resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
Infrastructure Delivery
  • Oversee site readiness, permitting, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor construction/buildout progress and coordinate issue resolution in real time.
  • Ensure infrastructure deployments align with technical specifications and operational requirements.
  • Support transition to operations and post-deployment handoff processes.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and reporting dashboards.
  • Prepare executive summaries, project updates, and post-project reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management methodologies and processes.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing infrastructure, facilities, telecom, construction, or technical deployment projects.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and resource planning.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with data center, network infrastructure, fiber, utilities, or large-scale deployment programs.
  • Familiarity with permitting, compliance, and construction management processes.
  • Experience using tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, or Primavera.
  • Knowledge of Agile and/or Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
Work Environment
  • Combination of office, remote, and field/site environments.
  • May require travel to project locations.
  • Ability to support occasional after-hours or weekend deployment activities as needed.
Compensation
  • Full-Time, Exempt
