Job Description

The role is responsible for shaping and managing the delivery approach for a complex telecom transformation project, from early planning through to execution. Working closely with architects and technical leads, you will translate evolving technical designs into a structured delivery plan with clear workstreams, milestones, ownership, dependencies, and governance. Throughout the project, you will coordinate technical teams, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure delivery remains aligned with the project's objectives.

The position serves as the primary delivery lead, ensuring effective coordination across multiple technical domains, maintaining alignment between strategic goals and execution activities, and driving successful outcomes in fast-paced and evolving environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders, architects, and technical SMEs to translate business objectives into a structured delivery approach, defining workstreams, milestones, deliverables, ownership, dependencies, and governance.
  • Support the development of the target solution by identifying planning assumptions, information gaps, technical dependencies, and decision points, ensuring they are reflected in the project plan as the design evolves.
  • Translate emerging architecture and engineering decisions into executable work packages, realistic delivery plans, and clear acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, vendors, and project teams throughout the project to maintain delivery alignment, resolve dependencies, and adapt plans as new information becomes available.
  • Maintain project plans, risks, assumptions, dependencies, decisions, and status reporting, providing concise, decision-oriented updates to project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across network, infrastructure, security, operations, and engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project financials, resource requirements, and capacity planning to ensure delivery commitments remain achievable and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, and technical reviews to achieve stakeholder alignment and accelerate issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, highlighting critical paths, risks, constraints, and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational delivery methodologies, quality standards, compliance requirements, and change management processes.
  • Support transition-to-operations activities, including operational readiness assessments, knowledge transfer, and service acceptance planning.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of project or program management experience in telecom networks, digital infrastructure, or a similar technical environment.
  • Experience planning and mobilizing projects where the scope, roadmap, or solution was still being developed - not only delivering projects with a predefined plan.
  • Experience working closely with technical teams to build delivery plans for complex engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Practical understanding of telecom and network infrastructure, with the ability to understand technical designs, identify dependencies, and challenge assumptions when needed.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in stakeholder-facing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale transformation, network modernization, cloud migration, or infrastructure deployment programs.
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams, vendors, and geographically distributed teams within complex delivery environments.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
  • Experience with risk management, governance reporting, executive-level communications, and steering committee engagement.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, SAFe, or equivalent are highly desirable

What Success Looks Like:

  • The project is structured quickly and clearly, even when requirements are initially incomplete.
  • Technical designs are translated into realistic delivery plans that engineering teams can execute.
  • Delivery plans are continuously refined to reflect evolving technical decisions, stakeholder inputs, dependencies, and project priorities.
  • Risks, dependencies, and assumptions are identified early, actively managed, and communicated transparently.
  • Project leadership and stakeholders receive concise, decision-oriented updates that support timely execution and informed decision-making.
  • Cross-functional teams remain aligned on priorities, responsibilities, and delivery commitments throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Schedule, resource, quality, and operational readiness objectives are achieved while maintaining delivery excellence.
  • The project transitions smoothly into operational support with minimal disruption and clear ownership of ongoing activities.
  • Delivery outcomes contribute to strategic business objectives, operational efficiency improvements, and long-term platform sustainability.
