Job description

Job Summary:
Sammons Financial Group Companies is looking for a Network Engineer to manage and maintain their data, voice, and wireless network. The role involves troubleshooting network issues, administering the network environment, and participating in a 24x7 weekly on-call rotation.
Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoots voice and data network infrastructure problems and associated component problems to include switches, routers, and firewalls. Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network.
• Administers the network environment, keeping network information up to date in a network log.
• Creates and maintains network infrastructure and WAN diagrams
• Monitors and manages performance and usage of the network environment and other networked resources.
• Using existing processes and templates, sets up and configures network devices in the existing environment.
• Has primary responsibility for the administration, maintenance, and operation of the network infrastructure.
• Performs daily operational tasks and system reviews to ensure proper execution of scheduled tasks, and resolution of issues and requests.
• Will operate as a representative of Infrastructure and Network Engineering with respect to infrastructure needs and impacts for Application Development projects and Business Initiatives as needed.
• Participates in a 24x7 weekly on-call rotation.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent training or experience
• Minimum 4 years' years' experience managing computer networks
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools
• Knowledge of network operating systems
• Understanding of communication and routing protocols
• Knowledge of coding languages for scripting a plus
• Demonstrated ability to deliver on project and task commitments
• Willingness to work on a geographically-dispersed team
• Exhibits good interpersonal skills, oral communication, and organizational skills
• Possesses strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
• Criminal background check required.
