Job description

King Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Network Engineer to join our team in supporting enterprise network modernization and integration efforts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with automation and network integration, testing, troubleshooting, validation, and development activities in complex enterprise environments. This role requires a self-starter who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and thrives in a collaborative, mission-focused environment.

This position requires an active DoD security clearance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform network integration, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities to support new and existing network infrastructure.
  • Design, configure, implement, and maintain enterprise routing, switching, and network security solutions.
  • Support systems integration efforts by ensuring interoperability between network components and associated systems.
  • Participate in network modernization initiatives by evaluating and deploying emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, implementation plans, standard operating procedures, and test plans.
  • Support the development and execution of test procedures to validate network functionality, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, customers, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and deliver mission-critical solutions.
  • Provide technical support during system installations, upgrades, maintenance activities, and operational events.
  • This position does require some travel.

General Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise routing and switching technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, access control, and network segmentation.
  •  Experience implementing and supporting Layer 2 through Layer 4 networking technologies, including switching, VLANs, trunking, EtherChannel, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), routing, Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP), Access Control Lists (ACLs), Network Address Translation (NAT), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), Label Distribution Protocol (LDP), Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), Layer 3 VPNs (L3VPN), and enterprise networking technologies
  • Experience supporting systems integration and network validation activities.
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or similar enterprise networking platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), federal government, or other secure enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES)
  • Familiarity with Piers
