Job description

Job Summary:

The Network Engineer 2 assumes ownership of assigned network systems, using discretion and independent judgment to diagnose and resolve complex connectivity issues, perform hardware and software upgrades, and ensure system reliability, security, and performance. Working closely with users, fellow IT professionals, and cross-departmental stakeholders, this role helps design, analyze, install, configure, administer, and optimize network systems across LAN/WLAN environments. The position requires hands-on expertise with Cisco and Meraki platforms and their components to ensure high availability and optimal performance for critical business applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose network issues, ensuring timely resolution and system stability
  • Assist in designing, specifying, and implementing network solutions, focusing on Cisco/Meraki platforms and related systems
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Cisco and Meraki switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points
  • Respond to and resolve network repair tickets from the help desk in a timely manner.
  • Administer and optimize network systems to support high availability and performance for business applications
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades to maintain optimal performance and security
  • Collaborate with team members and various departments to support network infrastructure projects and objectives
  • Maintain detailed system documentation, inventories, and records
  • Execute ad hoc assignments and participate in system roll-out initiatives
