How You'll Make Your Mark:

  • Lead test strategy and execution for complex features and subsystems by analyzing design documents and technical specifications to define objectives, scope, and deliverables with minimal oversight.
  • Own development, review, and continuous improvement of comprehensive test plans, protocols, and documentation; drive defect triage, rootcause analysis, and verification of fixes.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust Python-based test frameworks, harnesses, and automation suites used in CI/CD pipelines; ensure code is modular, reusable, and production-ready.
  • Leverage AI models and LLMs to accelerate test-case generation, create prompt-driven scenarios, parse and classify logs, detect anomalies, and prioritize test coverage.
  • Architect and execute advanced securityaware test scenarios validating encryption, authentication/authorization, access controls, firewall policies, threat emulation, and attack mitigation.
  • Capture and analyze packet traces and system logs (Wireshark, tcpdump, enriched logs); produce clear, reproducible bug reports and actionable RCA for cross-functional teams.
  • Run and coordinate functional, performance, interoperability, regression, reliability, and security tests across physical and virtual lab environments and production-like testbeds.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, development, site reliability, and outsourced partners to define release criteria, improve test coverage, and influence secure-by-design practices.
  • Mentor and lead junior engineers in test design, automation best practices, and security testing techniques; contribute to team processes, tooling, and metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to building and operating production-level test infrastructure, monitoring, reporting tooling, and CI/CD integrations to scale automated validation efforts.

About You:

  • 5+ years professional experience in network quality assurance, network engineering, or security-focused testing roles with demonstrated ownership of test programs.
  • BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Networking, Information Security, or related field.
  • Strong networking foundation with hands-on experience in campus and data-center deployments and production network troubleshooting.
  • Proven expertise in Python for automation, building test frameworks, and producing production-quality test code; solid understanding of data structures and software engineering practices.
  • Substantial experience applying AI/ML tools or LLMs to testing, log analytics, or automation workflows is highly valued.
  • Strong practical security background: experience designing and executing threat-informed tests, vulnerability validation, secure configuration checks, and collaborating with security teams.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and architectures: TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, BGP, EVPN/VxLAN, MPLS, VLANs, NAT, DHCP, DNS, and real-world deployment patterns.
  • 4-5+ years using Python for test automation; deep familiarity with pytest or similar frameworks, CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and Git workflows.
  • Experience with VxLAN/EVPN deployments (Collapsed Core, DCI, Mhoming..)
  • Demonstrated use of AI models/LLMs for test generation, log classification, anomaly detection, or automation enhancement.
  • Advanced security testing skills: designing threat-informed test cases, validating encryption/authentication, testing firewall behaviors (DMZ, SNAT/DNAT), conducting exploit validation, and collaborating on vulnerability remediation.
  • Familiarity with network security tooling (IDS/IPS, firewalls, VPNs) and experience integrating security checks into automated test suites.
  • Experience with virtualization, containers, and orchestration (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes), and network emulation/simulation platforms (GNS3, Mininet, EVENG) for realistic testbeds.
  • Strong experience capturing and analyzing packet traces and logs (Wireshark, tcpdump, system and application logs) and using those artifacts for RCA and automated diagnostics.
  • Strong analytical mindset, troubleshooting proficiency, attention to detail, and a track record of driving automation, reliability, and security improvements in test programs.
