Position Summary

The employee is responsible for performing detailed estimating and analysis tasks supporting impacts to aircraft weight and balance.

Your working environment:

The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.

Your challenges:

  • Flammability Certification and Compliance:

  • Establish and support control methods for weight and balance of in process and completed assemblies and installations.

  • Support actual weight and balance of aircraft, direct interfacing with various organizations within completions.

  • Track and maintain all mass properties information and support maturing of internal processes.

  • Solves typical engineering problems within assigned discipline.

  • Provides technical assistance to engineering staff and contributes to completion of project milestones.

  • Responsible for a complex engineering assignment, or a full project of lesser complexity.

  • Follows established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments.

  • Obtains appropriate level of supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy.

  • Proficiently applies company/organization policies and procedures.

  • Stakeholder and Process Management:

  • Strong liaison with other departments both internally and internationally.

  • Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirements

  • .Maintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments and application of technical principles, theories, andconcepts in assigned fields of expertise.

  • Industry Engagement and Digitalization Efforts:5%

  • Lead digitalization improvement projects within engineering teams, develop efficient methods to automate work and

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical)

  • Minimum three (3) years plus experience in aircraft compliance experience.

  • Ability to write reports, technical memorandums, interface agreements, and work statements using high-level technical English.

  • The level of technical skills and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.

  • Applies knowledge to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, using a combination of judgment with defined practices and procedures.

  • Works under general supervision for routine tasks of minor complexity.

  • Clear and in-depth knowledge of Aircraft Mass Properties and flight physics calculations and analysis.

  • Proficient level of the English language.

  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in an international setting that resolves problems, facilitates consensus, and focuses on objectives.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, compliance documentation, and technical documentation.

  • Proficiency in Google Suites Products.

  • Authorized to Work in the US

  • Uses information from contact network to problem solve and secure aircraft delivery and development.

  • Applies knowledge to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity, using a combination of judgment with defined practices and procedures.

  • Works under general supervision for routine tasks of minor complexity.

  • With supervision/mentorship, can coordinate the activities for lower-level engineering staff.
