Role: Network Engineer

Duration: 12+ months

Location: Greenwood Village, CO

Certification Knowledge Level - CCNP+

Experience Level: 10+ Years

Skill Set: Consultant would have a Bachelor's degree in MIS/Computer Science/Math or equivalent experience

2+ years previous experience in the IT industry

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field and/or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience.

A minimum of 8 years of network and/or telecommunications engineering experience.

Advanced knowledge (broad expertise or unique knowledge) of policies, practices and systems.

Develops advanced concepts, techniques, and standards.

Strong systems level understanding for technologies across Information Technology (IT).

Develops new applications based on professional principles and theories.

Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts.

Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.

Areas of Proficiency:

Switching

Should possess a proficient understanding of most/all Layer 2 concepts and design

Proficient understanding of advanced interoperations between Layer 2 and Layer 3

In depth understanding of intermediate switching hardware

Understand current industry standards and deployments of Layer 2 environments

Routing

Should have intermediate understanding of most Layer 3 routing protocols

Proficient understanding of advanced routing for OSPF and BGP

Proficient understanding of advanced multiple routing protocol interaction

Advanced design concepts

Advanced traffic manipulation knowledge

Intermediate multicast knowledge

Cisco IOS XR experience/exposure is a plus
