Job Description

NineStar Connect is looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer III to help design, maintain, and evolve our next-generation service provider network. If you're passionate about complex routing, carrier-grade infrastructure, and building reliable networks that serve thousands of customers, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

What You'll Do

As a Network Engineer III, you'll play a key role in the design, operation, and advancement of NineStar's core network infrastructure, including:

  • Configuring, maintaining, and upgrading core service provider network devices
  • Supporting and optimizing 100G and 400G transport networks
  • Managing DWDM systems, MPLS networks, and private/public eBGP peering
  • Maintaining public IPv4 and IPv6 addressing infrastructure
  • Researching, testing, and deploying emerging service provider technologies
  • Providing advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for network operations
  • Administering critical network services including DNS, DHCP, TACACS, and monitoring platforms
  • Developing and maintaining accurate network documentation
  • Training and mentoring fellow engineers and technical staff
  • Contributing to long-term network architecture planning and strategic initiatives
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 8 years of related experience, or
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 10 years of related experience
  • Extensive experience supporting service provider networks
  • Strong expertise in:
    • BGP and OSPF routing protocols
    • MPLS environments
    • Complex routing and network design
    • Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, and IOS-XR platforms
    • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics
    • Linux-based network services including DNS, DHCP, and TACACS
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Certifications

  • CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or higher
  • CCNP Service Provider concentration strongly preferred
