Senior Network Engineer (TS) — Huntsville, AL (Quantico, VA option)

We have an urgent opening for a senior-level Network Engineer to support a mission customer. This is a hands-on role for someone who can own enterprise network operations end-to-end: troubleshoot complex issues, keep the environment stable, and be the escalation point when problems get real.

Locations: Huntsville, AL (primary) and Quantico, VA (additional opening)
Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) required

What you’ll do
• Serve as the senior SME for enterprise networks and devices: switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, encryptors, and telecom technologies
• Troubleshoot and manage customer networks alongside government and contractor teams
• Provide technical guidance to the Project Lead and other Network Engineers; review work against government standards and industry best practices
• Recommend improvements to network architecture, tooling, and processes based on evolving trends and mission needs
• Act as the on-call escalation point when tickets can’t be resolved at the tier level
• Complete After-Action Reviews for critical tickets and submit within 24 hours of closure
• Deliver professional, customer-first support in every interaction

Required qualifications
• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance
• 5+ years of IT experience focused on networking, with strong Cisco switches/routers experience
• Deep knowledge of: IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, stateful firewalls, and encryption technologies
• Working knowledge of network management and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, Riverbed, Micro Focus Network Automation or similar)
• Familiarity with web apps/servers, application load balancers, storage systems, and security concepts (firewalls, IDS/IPS, ACLs)

Preferred
• BS in IT/CS or related field
• CCNP (Enterprise, Data Center, and/or Security)
