Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The role includes supporting department product lines through small projects and day-to-day technical tasks. Responsibilities include:
  • Interfacing with operations and maintenance to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize unit performance, including support for shutdowns, turnarounds, and start-ups.
  • Monitoring unit performance variables and aiding in product line benchmarking.
  • Applying technical skills to enhance health, safety, and environmental performance.
  • Identifying and implementing process changes to improve quality, reduce costs, and increase production.
  • Supporting project activities such as scoping, prioritization, process design, economic evaluation, start-up support, post-audit evaluations, and documentation.
Education/Experience
  • Actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Completed at least one year of engineering courses.

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong engineering skills with a basic knowledge of process engineering.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and adjust accordingly.
  • Understanding of cost/benefit economic analysis and budgeting.
  • Solid foundation in engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to generate and implement new ideas and useful concepts effectively.
  • Good listening and influencing skills.
