Job description

At Wizards of the Coast, we connect people around the world through play and imagination. From our genre-defining games like Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons to our growing multiverse, we continue to innovate and build new ways to foster friendship and connection. That's where you come in!

The Network Engineer works on Wizards of the Coast's enterprise network spanning datacenters, corporate offices, studio environments, and AWS cloud. Our network is evolving: an AI-driven Juniper/Mist campus fabric, a Palo Alto Networks security edge, and cloud-native connectivity into AWS form the backbone of our next-generation architecture. You will collaborate with engineering teams across the company during design, development, and implementation while researching, evaluating, and implementing emerging technologies, AI-assisted operations, and automation tooling.

What You'll Do:
  • Design, implement, and operate our Juniper/Mist campus and branch infrastructure.
  • Engineer and maintain the Palo Alto Networks security stack.
  • Build and support AWS cloud networking - VPC design, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect/VPN, Route 53 - and hybrid connectivity between on-premises datacenters and cloud, including WAN traffic engineering with BGP, OSPF, and SD-WAN.
  • Automate network configuration, validation, and deployment using Python, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Modernize network observability - streaming telemetry, flow analysis, and cloud-native monitoring.
  • Maintain a working understanding of emerging architecture trends (next-generation datacenter, SASE, zero-trust); conduct proof-of-concept exercises, provide design mentorship, and communicate across business, creative, and technology teams.
What You'll Bring:
  • 6+ years of enterprise network engineering experience across routing, switching, and wireless - with hands-on depth in Juniper (EX/QFX/SRX, Mist) and/or Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus) platforms, and experience with (or strong readiness for) AI-driven network operations such as Mist/Marvis.
  • Strong knowledge of Internet routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), traffic engineering with BGP and SD-WAN, and load balancing solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including policy architecture and Panorama; Checkpoint or Fortinet experience also valued.
  • Working experience with AWS networking services - VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect/VPN, Route 53, security groups - and cloud monitoring such as CloudWatch, plus core network services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM).
  • Understanding of Linux, proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python preferred), comfort consuming APIs, and demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Marvis) to accelerate engineering work.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills across large-scale distributed platforms, and the ability to communicate and deliver under deadline constraints.
Nice to Have:
  • Active certifications: AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, or AWS Solutions Architect.
  • Prisma Access / SASE deployment experience, or Palo Alto Cloud Identity Engine (CIE) exposure.
  • Infrastructure-as-code in production - Terraform or Ansible pipelines managing network state.
  • Experience in a multi-studio, multi-BU entertainment or gaming enterprise environment.
